Campobello Island, New Brunswick

Campobello Island, part of the provence of New Brunswick, is reached by bridge from the town of Lubec in eastern Maine. The island is best known for the cottage where Franklin Delano Roosevelt summered as a child and vacationed as an adult.

FDR's cottage - In back of the house is a path leading down to a private beach. When their children were boating, Eleanor used a huge megaphone to call out to them across the water (quite a picture!).
